Open Position: ATTC Co-Project Director

Eligibility Status: Full-Time                                              FLSA Status: Salaried
Reports To: Executive Director

SUMMARY: The Co-Project Director (Co-PD) for HHS Region III: Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center (Central East) is responsible for the programmatic and administrative coordination of all training, and technical assistance (T/TA) for the ATTC.  The Co-PD will work closely with ATTC Project Director to ensure grant deliverables are met.  This position will work with multiple stakeholders within the region to seek input on T/TA needs within the states.  The Co-PD will serve in conjunction with the ATTC Project Director as a spokesperson and liaison to federal, regional, state and local entities, academic institutions, treatment and recovery agencies, etc. The Co-PD will recommend and develop other training/workforce initiatives.


  • Oversight and management of the T/TA activities for the Central East
  • Develop an annual HHS Region III Central East T/TA work plan
  • Identify and utilize appropriate resources to meet all ATTC goals and objective
  • Identify and translate emerging regional needs into products/projects plan to address those needs
  • Respond to immediate needs as identified by regional, state and/or local communities
  • Lead development of curriculum, educational modules, online materials, products, and tools based on evidence-based substance use disorder treatment strategies, interventions, programs, and policies
  • Serve on workgroups related to workforce development
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships at federal, regional and local levels.
  • Identify and maintain subject matter experts
  • Maintain regular and timely correspondence with project participants and regional stakeholders
  • Prepare and review a variety of comprehensive status reports and management strategies
  • Assist in annual budget planning, grants reporting, technical writing and business development


  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, education, behavioral health or other human services field
  • At least seven (7) years related experience working in the behavioral health or public health field
  • A minimum of five years of related experience and a proven track record in proposal writing and program development
  • Significant demonstrated experience in curriculum design and instructional development


  • Knowledge of state health agency role and function
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, prevention, and current health care issues
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in the addiction/behavioral health field
  • Knowledge of the impact of health care reform on behavioral health
  • Experience with proposal writing, and program development
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training and technical assistance for behavioral health quality improvement and adult learning theory
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and produce educational materials utilizing different technology approaches/formats
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a range of professional and community-based organizations
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks
  • Energetic and passion for improving the behavioral health workforce through evidence-based programming and policies


  • Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions
    plans, and evaluate the process and results
  • Support and influence others to make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Establish strong working relationships and collaborative arrangements with project participants, regional stakeholders, and other community groups
